Once you open a YouTube channel through your Google account, you keep on progressing if you continue uploading the videos. First, Google will welcome you upon opening the channel. Then you will see the following milestones along the course:
1. 100 Subscribers: Google will notify you once you cross the 100 subscribers. If you don’t know, YouTube only needed 100 subscribers threshold before they readjusted it to 1,000, in order to monetize the channel.
2. 1, 000 Subscribers: Google will congratulate you on reaching 1k Subscribers as this is now the new threshold for monetization.
3. 10, 000 views: YouTube (it is one wing of Google, anyway) will notify you if any one of your videos reached 10k views. Before the new rule in 2018, your channel would be monetized if you reached the two criteria as below
a) 1k Subscribers
b) 10k views in any one of videos in the channel
But now, the new rules to be eligible for channel monetization are:
a) 1k subscribers
b) 4,000 hours of watch time in the last 365 days
You have to apply and get approved from Google Adsense before applying for Channel Monetization. Even before that you should be Google verified partner (apply for Google Partnership Program)
4. Community Tab Unlock: You can unlock the community tab in YouTube only after crossing 1k—subscriber threshold. Through this tab, you can reach to the larger audience than your subscribers’ range and can also upload texts, photos or both. With this tab enabled, the upload sign also changes as shown below (it gets an in-body plus sign)
5. Notice on trending: YouTube will send you the notification if one of your videos is on trending.
6. Paid Membership: You have also the access to open paid Membership if your channel has more than 30K subscribers
7. Silver play button: You reach 100k subs, YouTube will shortly send you on Silver Play Button.
8. Gold Play Button: if you reach 1M subs, they will send you a gold play button
9. Diamond Play Button: on crossing 10M subs, they will send you Diamond Play button to your postal address.
10. Ruby Play Button: if you cross 50M subscribers, you are eligible for Ruby Play button. Until now, only two channels have got this button: PewDiePie and T-series. They both have 80M+ subscribers.
The video that got most views on YouTube as of Today is Despacito. It has more than 6 billion views.
