Overview
The hospital was
established in February 2007 through community donations, particularly
supported by Eurasia Reiyukai, hence adopting its name. Since its inception,
the hospital has faced various challenges. Eurasia Reiyukai is an
internationally recognized social organization that has crossed significant
strides in the services of mankind. The core of Reiyukai teachings centers on
guiding individuals to awaken their minds, encouraging introspection and
exploration to discover the meaning of their lives, all while maintaining reverence
for their predecessors. Initially, REMEH operated as a clinic with technical assistance
from ophthalmic professionals at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH),
Maharajgunj, on a weekly basis.

The hospital's
beginnings were fueled by a grant of a thousand dollars from Eurasia Reiyukai,
operating within limited infrastructures provided by the Reiyukai Nepal. Over
time, the hospital has grown steadily, focusing primarily on community
services. Rooted in community service, the hospital evolved into a thriving
primary eye care center offering a few specialized services, serving the
community it was built by and for.
The hospital is
situated in Budol Height, within Banepa, the hub of Kavre district. Located 26
kilometers east of Kathmandu, the journey from the capital typically spans an
hour by motor vehicle to reach this destination. Operating from a building in
Banepa-6, the facility was constructed with financial backing from the Goodwill
Community Foundation (GCF), NC, USA, with local coordination by the Community
Development and Relief Agency (CDRA-Nepal).
